TOC - Men's Class C - WSL/NIT

Another great tournament in the books and another not so surprising finish as Team Imua takes two from Sauce to win the tournament. They are proving that ’07 was just the beginning of their dominance in men’s slowpitch softball here in Hawaii. Although they are coming from the loser’s bracket this year, the outcome seems to be the same. On top of that, they are missing a few key players at this time due to injuries or prior commitments. As for Sauce, it was nice to see those boys back in the top three. After losing Cecil last summer they finally seem to be finding their groove again. It’s always tough when you lose your top player but everyone is stepping it up and I think they are BACK!!! Family Stone’s is the dangerous one. The revamped lineup is continuing to grow and I am sure Dave will have them peaking at the States and Finals. I definitely wouldn’t count these guys out. Congratulations to the top four teams that have secured a berth to the WSL Championships. A bunch of you have already called in to register for the Reno event in October so I will see you there. This tournament as many others before, didn’t happen without its share of controversies. I thank all of you for being understanding and I will work hard to make sure that we learn and correct these issues. If any of you have any questions or comments please don’t hesitate to ask. There is just one more tournament left for the class C until the state tournament. I apologize for this long break and hopefully I can rectify this situation in ’09. Thank you as always and we’ll see you at the next one.

TOC - Men's Class D - qualifier #2

With the second D tournament in the books it looks like the Finals will be up for grabs. No Skillz who went undefeated in the first leg struggled this time around going 0-3. Sometimes when the pressure is off to win you lose the edge, but I know that Bree and boys will get it going next time around. So who’s in the Finals? Island Style sure is. It was their turn to go undefeated after going out early in the first leg. We cold all see the talent on that team, but as any new team they just had to settle down and find their groove. Rodney and Randy has put a team together that will definitely be in the mix in the championships. Team Nympho, who came in second, is one of those teams of the future. This was actually Five 0 with some new additions and like I said before they will be battling in the C’s soon enough. This is a fun team to watch. Young, talented, and plays the game to win. No Game and U No Dat also had very good runs and are definitely no to be overlooked. It is definitely heating up in the D’s and it’s anyone’s game come Finals time. Thanks to all of you as always and we’ll see you in 3 weeks. Remember the next on is the WSL event for the D’s and we do have Maui and the Big Island represented. This should be a good one.
